Homemade Spinach Hummus

Hummus is one of the easiest snack to make and it makes large batches, this is perfect for company or days of snacking! I originally intended to make sun dried tomato hummus, but I did not have the patience to wait 7+ hours for the tomatoes to dehydrate.

-You will need 15oz can chickpeas, 1 cup packed spinach, olive oil, cumin, garlic, salt, chili powder and lemon juice.

My method:

In a food processor combine the chickpeas, 2 T olive oil, 1/4 t cumin, 1/2 t salt, 1/2 T lemon juice, spinach and chili powder to taste. [ My measurements are approximate because I kept adjusting as we pureed the peas.

-Taste the hummus throughout the blending and make adjustments that suit your taste buds.
-Enjoy with tortilla chips, pita, carrots, celery, etc…
-This is also an incredibly affordable snack to make vs buy!

    Have you thought of adding tahinni? It is crushed sesame seeds and added to most hummus recipes that we have. Having fun with the parents!!! Tom in Alabama
